Mystery books

I've been reading a lot of culinary mystery books - call it a guilty pleasure. They take about 4 hours to read, all have the same plot, and they come with recipes.

Culinary mystery? What does that involve? "Lonely chef drowns himself in his own soup tureen ... or did he? Was it the jealous sous-chef?"

I was curious about them as well. So far, the plot tends to have the main character's food involved in a murder. Then, the protagonist sets out to prove that they are not guilty while also handling their food-related business. The recipes in the book tend to reflect the food described while reading. Some of the books do involve a chef being mysteriously killed, but I haven't read one of those yet.
