The smell is actually worse after the trash cans have been emptied and the lids left open.

Mear my home is a train station. And on the train station is a trash bin.
This trash bin stinks just like when the animals in the zoo weren't cleaned for two week or so. I'm telling you it's lethal.
I was riding my bicycle to work this morning. Next to me (on the street!) was a garbage truck and I could not overtake the truck, nor could he overtake me (I hate traffic lights!), so I had to cycle with a certain smell in my nose for quite a while. ... Some things are more or less the same all over the world.
Trash bins are particularly smelly in triple digit, humid weather. Thank you Texas.
