Twilight movie

I have to say....the book was better. I'm actually kind of surprised at how cheesy the movie was. Now, the book had some cheesy lines and a lot of lovey-dovey narration, but at least there was some depth to the characters. The movie version of Bella was not very likable (but her character in the books was). But, the thing that bothered me the most was the soundtrack and the filming style. Personally the whole movie felt low-budget (which it probably was) and very much like a poorly made B-movie. It's like the director tried to "camp-up" the vampire element to a humurous extreme (hence the baseball scene). I only hope that because of the vast amounts of money this movie is making, the sequel will have a bigger and better budget (though I also think it should have another director). Overall, read the books before (if ever) watching the movie.

I SOO agree. They are looking for a new director for New Moon and it's supposed to be out I think in October.

Yeah, I felt that the movie needed a lot more humor, and sarcasm, and the fun that was in the books. It's like the best parts were the ones with Bella's friends (and Alice and Emmet! 'cause they're my favorite vampires). They better make the next movie good because that's my favorite book!!

I can't comment on the comparison between book and film because I haven't read the book, but I watched a copy of the film on youtube, under the name 'super busy hospital' (hahaha).
It was... so cheesy I could barely stand it.
Also, the music made it seem like it was an episode of The O.C. or any other general teen series.

The New Moon director is going to be Chris Weitz, who did The Golden Compass (didn't that bomb?), American Pie (catering to the teen crowd), and About a Boy (great film). So it may or may not be better...

Well, nice to know most people agree with me. I've heard that those who read the books first dislike the movie, and those who didn't actually like it. But, Holly, you proved that that's not always the case. Also, I was a huge fan of The Golden Compass and I thought the movie was well done. But, it did not do very well in theaters, and I don't have high hopes on them making a sequel. It's upsetting, because I liked the second book a lot. And Sofia, the second book is my favorite in the Twilight series as well. I'm concerned, however, because it seems like they have a very rushed film schedule (plans to release November 2009), so let's hope is doesn't suffer too much.
