Not so fun

Yes, I got a speeding ticket in September and finally got around to taking the defensive driving course online (so that I can avoid adding any penalties to my insurance). It was my first ticket ever. The course alone is enough to make you stop speeding, despite the ticket fee. I took the course online and it requires you to take a certain amount of time for each lesson - you are penalized for going fast, even if you get the right answers! It took up my whole Saturday, sniffle.

Did you try deferred disposition? That's what I'm doing. Just have to not get any tickets for another three months.

I think that's what I did.....
Either way, I turned in my completed test today and everything is forgiven.

In Travis county there's deferred disposition #1: take defensive driving and it's off record.

For a second offense within a year there's deferred disposition #2 (aka parole): take defensive driving and don't get a ticket within 3 months.

I just got two tickets recently . . .

Oh, then I definitely had the deferred disposition #1. Both, a pain in the @$$.

oh sweet. Then my getting the ticket in Plano (rather than here) was probably actually a *good* thing.

imagine that.
