At the hospital we asked all sorts of people how they would spell Cecilia. And the answers were split nearly 50/50. We've unfortunately doomed Cecilia to have to deal with this for the rest of her life. Even I've spelled her name both ways until we finally settled on an official (on the birth certificate and SS card) spelling.

You mean like "I before E except after C"?
I know that has no bearing on Cecilia's name, but something to keep in mind to confuse you further.
It's still better than this or this.
I guess it could be worse.
