Visiting the parents

There was so much turbulence do to some storms, but it got us to our destination really fast. But that just meant I had to sit around the airport for a while - no fun.

Pixar triumphs again!

My attempt at Remy, but he's a bit too pudgy looks a tad more like his brother Emile. Anyway....the movie was amazing! I left the theater feeling so uplifted and just - happy. It's so rare that you leave a theater feeling great. I haven't even been to the theater in so long, it was months before I last went to see Surf's Up (which was also an excellent film). And usually, I feel that I wasted the hours spent in the theater, but not this time. Ratatouille was worth every penny and I will most likely see it again this weekend.

Pixar Pixar Pixar

I'm so excited for the movie! I'm going to see it the instant I get off work. It combines two of my all time favorite things - Pixar and food. What better movie could there be?

Although, it's still hard to top The Incredibles.

Annoyances

The key to my mailbox doesn't work anymore. Aaargh!

I hate mosquitos

I thought this would suffice as an Illustration Friday submission, as these mosquitos are clearly being rejectected.

Speaking of irritations, I am very allergic to mosquito bites, meaning the bites swell like crazy. The picture above is no exaggeration. Plus, the area around the bite turns really red, but the very center stays a swollen, pale lump that itches all the time. I got the two bites drawn above while at work - figures.

Father's Day

A quick sketch for my dad on father's day. He always taught me the coolest stuff, like how to shoot an airgun with accuracy. Thanks Dad.

The two dogs

My doggy on the left, her sister on the right. They are Norwegian Elkhounds the best breed ever! Svena's portrait turned out better, though.

Ouch!

It's always humilating and insulting when you bite the inside of your cheek. Gee, I've only been eating solid foods for over twenty years, how could I suddenly forget? And then, you really know you've bit hard when you hear the sickening crunch like biting into a cob of corn. Ugh.

Birthday

Went to a yummy restaurant. Had my first non-Chinese style duck meal. Very good, especially the thick layer of crispy skin and fat *drool*.

Rude awakening

My dog gets to be with her sister when my dad comes to visit, and it's like sugar rush for her. She basically doesn't sleep because she is so excited that they are visiting. When we lived in Illinois the dogs got to visit each other at least once a month (I know, my parents were over quite a lot). But now that we live in Texas they don't get to see each other but once a year and Loki just can't waste a moment on sleep. Plus, with her sister around she barks at random noises a lot more. I guess she's trying to prove that she properly takes care of our home. Goofy dog.

Work

Yes, I may start working a ten hour day, four days a week. I don't quite know what to make of this. It would be great to have a three day weekend, but a bummer to have to stay at work for ten hours. It's difficult enough being there for eight. Plus, we already have a forced, unpaid vacation the first week of July. Craziness.

Cold shower

Seriously, our gas company is horrible. Despite being an incredibly timely bill payer (I always mail the check off the day after I receive the bill) we have had our gas turned off three times. Luckily, my husband just ignites the pilot light, but on instances such as this I had to rush and take a shower before work. It wouldn't be that big a deal if I didn't have to be at work at exactly 7:30 am, no later. So, needless to say, I was rather grumpy and cold for a while this morning.

Fantasy novels in 2 page intervals

Seriously, I get half an hour for lunch. It wouldn't be so bad except that I like to read during my lunch break. And eating plus reading plus a short lunch break doesn't allow for much progress in novels. It always seems that I have to stop just as the plot really picks up.

Annoying traffic lights

I have to go through two lights like this on my way to and from work. They always form a line of people and only allow one or two cars by before changing back to a red light. I am a very impatient person when it comes to sitting at red lights (although I am not a "creeper", those people who creep forward while the light is red till they are practically in the middle of the intersection) so I get extra aggravated when I have to wait for two cycles. Plus, I already have a half-hour commute and an unreasonably strict work schedule. *sigh*

Hello

Okay, so I decided that I need to force myself to draw everyday in order to improve my skills. So....how to come up with something new to draw everyday? Look to life. Therefore, I am attempting to post a daily comic strip based on the days events. Hopefully my skills will improve and my posts won't be too boring. eheh
